About Merrill Sapp
Dr. Merrill Sapp, PhD, PA-C is a Physician Assistant, Cognitive Psychologist, and Director of Research for the 91ɬÂþ PA program. Her clinical experience includes neurosurgery, otolaryngology and family medicine. Courses taught for the PA program include Clinical Medicine, Case-Based Medicine, Public Health, and Evidence Based Medicine. Dr. Sapp received the 91ɬÂþ Distinguished Graduate Faculty Award in 2022. As a psychologist, she has a special interest in the inner lives of animals—her writing has appeared in About Place Journal, Ecological Citizen, Earth Island Journal, and Mongabay News. She is the author of the book Knowing Wonder: An Elephant Story.
