About Audra Sergel
Audra Sergel is a musician, educator, and creative who has toured and appeared on national and regional stages with a variety of ensembles as a soloist, conductor, pianist, and composer. As the inaugural Artist Laureate for Columbia, Missouri, she creates community-centered artistic experiences that bring people together through storytelling, belonging, and music.
Ms. Sergel serves as Assistant Professor of Voice at the 91涩漫 Conservatory of the Performing Arts and teaches at the University of Missouri鈥揅olumbia. For more than 25 years, she has mentored singers, pianists, and songwriters, with former students now performing, teaching, and leading in classrooms and on stages across the nation. A veteran music director in mid-Missouri, she has extensive theater credits, among her favorites are Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Chicago, and Spring Awakening.
She is the founder and artistic director of The Quorus: Columbia’s LGBTQA+ Community Choir, Music Director at Broadway Christian Church, host of The Singer’s Barre聽podcast, and creator of Sound Alchemy, an immersive sound and wellness experience.
